MABUSHI COMMUNITY GOES AGOG AS CORP MEMBER OF WORKS MINISTRY COMMISSIONS PROJECT

The Mabushi village women were so elated as a youth corp member, Kelechi Obi serving in the Federal Ministry of Power, Works &  Housing  commissioned her Women Empowerment Community Development Project over the weekend.
While speaking at the event she enjoined the beneficiaries to take advantage of the free two months training and seminar to better their family economy and their community.  The skills empowerment were in the areas of - catering, cosmetology, making of ankara, jewelries, bags, slippers and beads. She also expressed her gratitude to the people of Mabushi , private individuals and agencies that supported her developmental initiative.
The chief of the community, Etsu Maupeyi who was represented by Mr James Kusase appreciated Kelechi for her laudable initiative  for  empowering  women within the locality and promised that the people would not forget her for the knowledge and skills she bestowed on them. While encouraging the women to impact the knowledge acquired on others, he urged to use the skills to grow their financial base and that of the community.   

The Director Information, Federal Ministry of Power, Works and  and Housing, Theodore Ogaziechi who is  the head of the department where Kelechi is serving ,  addressed the gathering by eulogizing  her as an exceptional youth corper and advised other corp members who were present at the occasion  to learn from her selfless service. He emphasized that the issue of development shouldn’t be left for government alone but that everyone at his own level can make an impact.

Deputy Director Special Project Unit  in the Ministry, Amaka Onieba advised  the women to stop looking for white collar jobs and  take advantage of skill acquisition training such as this  to empower themselves in order to create jobs and be self-employed.

The Principal Inspector NYSC, Mrs Telta Aisha who supervised the project  at the event advised other corpse member to borrow a leaf from Kelechi as she commissioned the project.

The exhibition and the award/gift session of  the event was moderated and anchored by the Assistant Director Information, FMPW& H, Mrs Enoh Olotu

The event was witnessed by members of the Mabushi Community, Staff of the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing and Some NYSC members
